Happy Memorial Day!!!

Well, our Memorial Day didn't turn out quite like we had planned. After months of no rain in Texas and severe drought-like conditions, we've started to finally get some rain lately. That is great and all but couldn't Mother Nature just give us a little rain break for Memorial Day weekend? I mean really! What started out as a weekend to go to San Antonio on Saturday to watch our Godson's soccer game, followed by camping with our neighbors at Inks Lake Sunday night turned into staying inside pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday. Luckily, the sun did come out Monday and it turned out to be a gorgeous, albeit HOT, day!! The rainy weekend didn't completely spoil our fun. We still went to San Antonio Saturday to visit Nicholas and his parents, Spenc & Sonia. And we did manage to roast hot dogs and s'mores outside Sunday night with our neighbors since we had already bought all the food for camping!! Then today Will got up at 4 am to start smoking a delicious brisket and we had our neighbors over. After dinner, we filled up the pool and let Claire splash around until bedtime. All in all, even with the rain, it was a fabulous weekend. The only bad part about it really was that it was only 3 days long. :(
